Trying avoid getting too verbos we stopped here in 2010 and 2011 to see both the Mynelle Garden and the Jackson Zoo on our way to someplace else.
Heading south in 2006 we passed through Jackson and really liked the little we could see. After camping in Texas and spending a week in Shreveport, Louisiana with my dad, we stopped here for a couple weeks on the way to my photography seminar in Auburn, Alabama. While many areas we visit have an Oh! Woe is me.
attitude, Jackson and Mississippi in general has a strong dynamic energy with a can do attitude. Now if they could just put that to work on the highways.

Back in Jackson at the end of March we stayed at LeFleur Bluff SP just east of downtown and one of the finest places to be out in the country.
