Again our visit to North Carolina was just passing through one our way back to Columbus, Ohio. We made the one overnight stop in Charlotte, NC but basically just stayed on I-77 barreling up the ditch.
After three weeks in West Virginia which was starting to get cool in late September we headed south across Virginia to Charlotte in the hopes it would be slightly warmer. Still in the camping mode we stayed at the McDowell Nature Center on Lake Wylie which separates North and South Carolina. We hiked several of the trails in this great county park but I wasted most of the electrons on the Daniel Stowe Garden just north of the campground if a little convoluted to get to. We have returned now several times and I'll include pictures when I get to those later years.
