Our first visit to Waco in late April is best described as wildflower heaven. There are a lot of other flowers on the Carleen Bright Aboretum page but no matter where we roamed were masses of wonderful flowers.
These photographs are from all over town and before I started linking them to the gps so I cannot pinpoint the exact location but it hardly matters as I just kept trying to get better views.
A lot of these photographs were taken in between chasing the swallow tails. We were tent camping at Midway Park on Lake Waco where we had a rather exciting time with a major thunderstorm one night. The southern part of Midway Park (like you can't get there from here, you need to go someplace else first), Twin Bridges Park across the lake, and even the airport area were all filled with flowers and birds.
I could really go on and on but I already did that on the arboretum page so I'll stop here. For a change of pace also check the Waco Mammoth NM located on the north side of town.
